Centavo's surgery

Organized by Frisco Humane Society

Update on Centavo
Thank you so much to everyone who has given so generously towards Tavo's surgery - we are so grateful to you all. It's amazing that you have donated almost the entire amount requested.
Centavo is doing well although he still has discomfort from his leg. His foster mom does physical therapy with him in warm water and that really seems to help. We are hoping that the next week or so will be a turning point for him as far as his comfort level. He goes to work with his foster mom and usually spends the day comfortably contained in a laundry basket :0)

We appreciate each and every one of you.

Centavo's surgery to repair his broken leg
On December 23rd we received a call from one of our vets, a client had brought in an 8-week old Chihuahua who had a broken leg. The clients child had fallen on the puppy and broken the puppy's leg. The client said they couldn't afford to fix the dog's leg and they would have to put him to sleep. The vet tech contacted us and asked if we would be able to take the little dog.

Of course we couldn't turn him down. Centavo is tiny, he weighs about 1 lb. We had the surgery done on December 26th to repair the leg and hopefully he will suffer no long term affects.

We would appreciate any donations, large or small, towards the cost of the surgery which was $945 - we just couldn't turn Centavo away. Fortunately we had a foster home who could squeeze him in - his foster mom says he's a precious little puppy. We will make sure he gets a loving forever home when he's ready for adoption which will be at least a couple of months pending healing of his leg and vetting.

Frisco Humane is a 501(c)3 charity - all donations are tax deductible.
